Risk Herpes Zoster

Doctors warn patients over 60 to immunize for Herpes Zoster also known as Shingles. Patients who had childhood Chicken Pox harbor the virus. When activated it produces a painful rash in the distribution of a dermatome. Immunizations can reduce the symptoms or prevent it. Most health departments offer immunizations. In 2010 only 14.4% of Americans over 60 were immunized, but the message is reaching more seniors through public service announcement and the Internet. Doctors work hard to keep patients healthy. When law enforcement close physician offices, communities lose valuable providers and well educated doctors who work hard.
