Doctors Improve Social Issues
Doctors help victims of domestic violence. They treat the victim and refer the battering partner for counseling. They are required to report an incident to law enforcement. Domestic violence occurs in all societies. Most frequently drugs or alcohol is involved. Counseling will help victims of domestic violence. Though an occasional partner will be arrested for domestic violence, the partner is more likely to be arrested for drugs. Law enforcement is all too ready to incarcerate a person with a drug problem then help stop domestic violence. Since alcohol is legal, the person who commits the battery faces fewer legal problems than those who use other substances. Though it is legal, over use of alcohol takes its toll on society with violence and broken homes.
